His engineering background has allowed him to develop photographic skills in commercial assignments, i.e. ultra-fast process visibility of multi-physics experiments, machine vision and artificial intelligence, product advertising, and dental photography related to Digital Smile Design (DSD) protocol. Photography for aesthetic dentistry is particularly challenging as it is necessary to combine the sense of beauty and technical perfection to attract patients and, at the same time, to meet the required image specification.

His artistic sensitivity has allowed him to use imagination and diversity in fields of photography other than just the technical one. His interpretation of art and documentary photography remains a classic approach to aesthetic and timeless vision, with properly framed images and preserved proportions using natural light. These photographic rules are frequently broken in his suggestive and provocative sensual images that invite the observer’s own imaginative references.

In portrait and editorial photography, he aspires to create works reflecting the beauty, elegance and mystery of the integrated entities of the soul and body, with a view to illustrating their innermost fantasies and desires, portrayed in a sensual way.

In the field of documentary photography, he takes close portraits, generally using a wide-angle lens, enabling direct penetration into the photographed world, in order to outline the ethereal and emotional nature of people. While traveling extensively and visiting many countries worldwide, he has interacted with ordinary people in all their facets, including social and cultural backgrounds. He has documented, among others “Your heart for Philippines children”, the charity initiative to support inhabitants of a remote archipelago.

He works on a digital medium using photo-essays, although in specific fine-art projects he applies an analog medium, which, as an old form of communication, conveys emotions in a more neutral and raw form. He is invariably inspired by the work of Helmut Newton as well as that of Steven Meisel, appreciating his often controversial Vogue layouts or images in the provocative photo book “Sex” written by Madonna.

Peter Drofberg company provides a variety of services including portrait, editorial, and corporate photography, editing and retouching services, dental photography workshops and tailor-made machine vision solutions complying with Industry 4.0 requirements.

Turtles breading

 

Within Indonesia’s West Kalimantan province on the island of Borneo lies a long stretch of sandy beach that is very important to marine turtles. Thousands of endangered green and critically endangered hawksbill turtles come ashore and use this beach for nesting. Moonlight reveals a female green turtle crawling back into the ocean after laying her eggs on the beach. This coastline is an important nesting area for thousands of marine turtles like her. The sea turtle eggs are relocated from the location on the beach where the turtles lay their eggs to a hatchery. This is done concerning threats that endanger the eggs in their original nesting locations such as erosion, high tide, traffic of tourists, feral dogs and irresponsible human action.
